Julia the journalist

I’m an award-winning audio storyteller and first-generation American student at the University of Oregon studying journalism and linguistics.

In my sophomore year of high school, I took my first journalism class. Something clicked, like trying your new favorite food for the first time, or meeting the person who will become your best friend.

Now, I’m a radio reporter and a podcaster. I’m a caffeine addict and a workaholic. I’m a plant mom and J. Cole obsessive. I’m a little too ambitious for my own good, and I get really really excited about new projects, even when they don’t work out. My mom continues to be my muse, and immigration is an issue that I try to highlight as often as I can.

“I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.”

– Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
